Here I Am: The Music of Anthony Costanzo – Melbourne Cabaret Festival

Anthony Costanzo put together a real ensemble cast for this one at Chapel Off Chapel. The one-off special event, Here I Am: The Music of Anthony Costanzo, was a collection of premieres: launching Costanzo’s new EP; and featuring debut performances from two upcoming musicals, Partners written in collaboration with Peter Fitzpatrick, and Trashed, which Costanzo has put together with Nick Christo.

Performers on the night included some of the best musical talent Australia has to offer, with Costanzo joined on stage by Rob Mills, Belinda Allchin, who we saw at the Opening Night Gala, Laura Fitzpatrick, Cameron MacDonald, Zoe Trilsbach and Brent Dolahenty. Between them they’ve performed in Wicked, Jersey Boys, Legally Blonde, We Will Rock You, Cats, Fiddler On The Roof, and more… so we weren’t short in the talent department for the evening then.

What a way to mark the halfway point of the Melbourne Cabaret Festival. Good music, great voices and a standing ovation duly followed.
